Carmela’s Arancini is a family business, run by three siblings, sharing our mum’s traditional recipes and passing them on the only way we know how, handmade, generous and full of flavour.

We started with arancini, but couldn’t keep Mum’s other recipes to ourselves, so we’ve added a few of her classics, finished with a subtle modern twist.

From our family to yours: freshly cooked meals served on-site, shared with your friends and loved ones. Let us make your event relaxed, delicious, and memorable. We can set up a marquee or we can use your kitchen, but please note, deep frying is involved!

About us

When Carmela migrated to Australia in 1995, there was one thing she missed more than anything — the taste of home. One day, craving a proper arancini like the ones she grew up with, she found an Italian restaurant selling them. Hope quickly turned to disappointment. They looked right… but they didn’t taste like home.

Carmela realised that if she wanted that familiar flavour, she’d have to make it herself. So she did sourcing the ingredients, cooking from memory, and recreating the arancini she knew and loved. From that moment on, arancini became her love language. Every special occasion, every family gathering, meant one thing: Mum’s arancini, made with care and shared generously.

In 2025, my siblings and I had a realisation — no one makes arancini like our mum. So why keep it just for ourselves? We decided to share Carmela’s arancini with the world.

We took a leap and attended our first market in Daylesford… and sold out. The proof was in the arancini.

Since then, we’ve catered events and continue to grow, staying true to the flavours, traditions, and love that started it all. This is more than food — it’s family, heritage, and a story we’re proud to share.
